About the instructor

Judson Ekis

Judson Ekis is a law enforcement officer with over 16 years of experience.  For more than ten years, Judson has trained and participated as a SWAT team member.  For the past five years he has been an Entry Team Leader. Judson has held this role for high risk warrants, barricaded persons, executive protection details, and hostage rescue.  

Since 2013, he has been working as a narcotics detective and has performed in an undercover role for over 500 illegal narcotics purchases.  He has also conducted surveillance and counter surveillance on several violent drug gangs and organizations. 

Judson has been a law enforcement firearms instructor since 2010.  He has been training and coaching in martial arts since 2003 with focuses in boxing, jiu jitsu, and wrestling. He currently is a blue belt in jiu jitsu.  Since 2010, Judson has been teaching seminars,in area churches, on skills to avoid becoming a victim. These seminars teach attendees to recognize potential dangers in everyday life and give participants insights and strategies on how to avoid these threats.  In 2016, Judson began taking his teaching in basic and advanced pistol courses to settings other than law enforcement.
